Have you tried contemplative practices that have you sitting still challenging? Do you feel God when you are outside? Do any of these questions relate to you or intrigue you as something you would like to explore? Inspired by the Contemplative Practices being spoken of in worship, conversations with other members, and a love for running, one of our Shepherd Members is starting a Shepherd Contemplative RunWalk Club through the Strava App. Access the app/club via the QR code here.
This Club will engage through the App in many ways. First with weekly quotes inspired by the sermon or other reflective mantra that connects us to our faith as an inspiration to focus on while walking or running as a contemplative practice. A space to share your runs and walks through maps, photos, and thoughts. Group runs and gatherings are also a possibility and could be set up by anyone in the group on an as desired basis. We would love to have you join in this contemplative way to connect with God, our movement and the world around us. Pilgrimage to the HolylandHave you ever thought about a trip/pilgrimage to the Holyland?

LENTEN BOOK STUDY![]() Our recent book studies have revolved around actionable items regarding anti-racism, engaging in politics through the lens of our faith, etc. All of these are based on a firm foundation of our faith. That is why our Lent Book Study for 2023 will tie into our Lenten theme around Contemplative Practices. Contemplative Practices is a churchy way of saying different ways in which we pay attention to how God is at work. How we actively step into where God is calling us to care for and engage with our neighbor and our planet greatly depends on how we care for our relationship with God and how we see God at work in the world.
We encourage you to join us Sunday mornings during Lent as we explore Everyday Contemplative by Rev. Dr. L. Roger Owens and discuss ways that we as individuals and a community can build on our understanding of how God is at work so we can lean into where God calls us. You can pick up a book in the Narthex during February. We will have a limited number available on a first come first serve basis or you can find them online. Meeting and Discussion Schedule: February 26 - Intro & Chapter 1 March 5 - Chapters 2 & 3 March 12 - Chapters 4 & 5 March 19 - Chapters 6 & 7 March 26 - Chapters 8 & Conclusion INFORMATION AROUND THE FOLLOWING UPCOMING ADULT EDUCATION WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON:
