FALL 2023 BOOK STUDY![]() This fall we want to take time to study how we talk about our faith, how we ask questions, how we sit with those who understand faith differently than us. Because that is the foundation of how we engage in social justice and expanding our welcome. Author Rachel Held Evans does an amazing job, in her book Faith Unraveled, of walking us through such exploration through her own story and study of faith making space for us to expand our understanding and give space for the hard questions.
Pick up a book in the narthex or purchase one at your favorite book store. We will meet every other week in between services: October 8th--Discussing Forward-Chapter 2 October 22nd--Discussing Chapters 3-5 November 5th--Discussing Chapters 6-9 November 19th--Discussing Chapters 10-13 December 3rd--Discussing Chapters 14-17 December 17th--Discussing Chapters 18-21 |

JOIN SHEPHERD'S CONTEMPLATIVE RUN/WALK CLUB

Are you an avid walker or runner or would you like to be? Have you tried contemplative practices that have you sitting still challenging?
Do you feel God when you are outside? Do any of these questions relate to you or intrigue you as something you would like to explore? Inspired by the Contemplative Practices being spoken of in worship, conversations with other members, and a love for running, one of our Shepherd Members is starting a Shepherd Contemplative RunWalk Club through the Strava App. Access the app/club via the QR code here.
This Club will engage through the App in many ways. First with weekly quotes inspired by the sermon or other reflective mantra that connects us to our faith as an inspiration to focus on while walking or running as a contemplative practice. A space to share your runs and walks through maps, photos, and thoughts. Group runs and gatherings are also a possibility and could be set up by anyone in the group on an as desired basis. We would love to have you join in this contemplative way to connect with God, our movement and the world around us.
