Amata Women’s Chorale and Con Brio Men’s Chorus

This concert is held on behalf of the University of Northwestern in St. Paul. The Department of Music & Theatre invites you to a beautiful concert of music provided by the Amata Women’s Chorale & the Con Brio Men’s Chorus. The concert takes place at 7:30 pm in our sanctuary. Unlike our other programs, this is a ticketed event. However, UNW is providing vouchers for Shepherd members that will be available at the door. Simply mention you are part of the Shepherd community and you will be admitted free of charge.

Kantorei Autumn Concert

Kantorei is an acapella chamber choir based in the Twin Cities that is celebrating their 37th season. Sometimes, we forget that neighbors can be (and are) friends, living in the same area, occupying the same place, with similar hopes and dreams.Be reminded of our shared goodness at “Friends & Neighbors” - our Autumn Concert program.Music by Robert Schumann, Sarah Quartel, Orlando Gibbons, Carole King, Jean Sibelius, J. David Moore, Melinda Bargreen, and more.

National Lutheran Choir All Saints Program

The National Lutheran Choir celebrates, invigorates and expands sacred choral music, bringing inspiration and meaning to people of diverse faiths and backgrounds. They will present a program entitles “Healing Our Legacy”. At the center of this annual All Saints program is Alex Berko’s A Sacred Place, a new piece for choir, soloists, violin, cello, and piano. Works by Johannes Brahms, F. Melius Christiansen, Elaine Hagenberg, and Caroline Shaw connect love and grief through the lens of nature. We examine how faith and music intersect the legacy we leave for generations to come. This choir has three separate connections to Shepherd. Director of Worship and Music Shaun Halland, and members Sarah Koepp and Kate Tripoli sing with this ensemble. This is a ticketed event. Adults are $35, Youth (under 18) are free and students with valid id’s are asked to pay what they can. Tickets can be purchased here. For Shepherd members, there is a coupon that will earn you $5 off the ticket price. You can pick that coupon up at the Welcome Desk and it includes a code for you to enter when purchasing tickets. This will likely be a sold-out event so purchasing early is wise.

Founded in 2015 and led by Artistic Director Phil Holzman, the Northeast Chorale is now in its tenth season. Today the Chorale is composed of more than fifty singers who come from all over the Twin Cities. Additionally, the Chorale has invited numerous musicians to perform. This includes Brass 360, pianists Andrew Peterson, Bitna Jeong, Kevin Hobbs, and Grace Choi, organist Marilyn Lueth, and the Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church Choirs. Through the combination of the Northeast Chorale singers and the many talented musicians in our neighborhoods we strive to bring artists together to build a strong and dynamic community.
