Weekly Preacher's Pondering

Preacher's Pondering

Our texts for this Sunday April 19, 2026 are:
  • 1Peter 1:17-23
  • Luke 24:13-35
As we approach them together I want you to be “ponder” of a couple of things….

1Peter text: In verse 23 there is one long Greek word for “you have been born anew” that has a literal translation of “you have been begotten” or “you have been caused to be begotten.” What might that mean for you? How can we be begotten all over again? Are we supposed to be different after our begotten-ness? And the Greek implies that the action is being done to us. What might that mean?
Luke text: The disciples don’t just feel different, they act differently, immediately returning to Jerusalem to share the good news. How might being made new in Christ move us beyond internal belief to outward action in our daily lives?

Bring these thoughts with this Sunday. And feel free to email me with your thoughts (or questions) as well at [email protected] . I’d love to hear from you!
Peace,
Pastor Renee
